Parrot Perch Palace

Parrot Perch Palace was inspired by my love of playfulness and games along with a direct influence from my dearest pet, Juno, a green cheeked conure. Because of my aspirations to work in game design, I wanted to build a castle that I could see in a game I'd like to play. I can already imagine it: Coming over a hill, in the distance a bizarre structure appears and a quest lays ahead of our hero. Their first challenge is finding a way to scale the cliffs... if only they knew how to fly. The most fun part of creating this castle was designing its pedestal. I wanted a kind of rocky cliff but simply lofting three curves together was too clean. I was able to make this unique structure by lofting three separate objects, one cylindrical, one curvy and one jagged. I then laid the three objects within each other and used BooleanUnion to create this organic cliff. The most difficult part of making Parrot Perch Palace was designing the crown.
